How It All Started

Our Story

How We Met

Trivia Night, Statesboro

Our story began in October 2021 on a chilly evening in Statesboro, Georgia. It was trivia night, and with our combined wit and questionable confidence, we managed to secure a respectable sixth-place finish.

Nearly five years later, we still haven't won a trivia night, but we managed to win each other.

In terms of personalities, we are polar opposites. I prefer sour; she prefers sweets. I'm impatient; she's somewhat patient. I like to get groceries and leave as quickly as possible; she likes to navigate the store completely backwards and spend two hours shopping.

The Proposal

She Said Yes

But that's what makes this special, because anybody can fall in love. The difficult part is learning how to navigate your differences, overcome the humps, and truly work together as a team.

Emma Gene, to me, is not just the woman I fell in love with; she is an indispensable life partner, and we are both so incredibly excited to finally get the government involved!

Over the last five years, we've discovered that our favorite thing isn't staying in one place; it's simply experiencing life together. Whether we're traveling somewhere new, wandering through town, or simply sharing the boring, everyday moments, we've learned that the best memories come from being together.

That's why we chose to celebrate our marriage in Scotland. Rather than have a traditional wedding, we wanted to spend an unforgettable weekend with the people we love most, making memories that will last long after the celebration is over.

We can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. — Joshua

Why Scotland

Our favorite thing isn't staying in one place.

Rather than have a traditional wedding, we wanted to spend an unforgettable weekend with the people we love most, making memories that will last long after the celebration is over. Scotland felt right — ancient, dramatic, and completely unlike anywhere either of us had been. We can't wait to share it with you.
